H & R started in June 1969 in the family garage. The company initially employed five –a family affair that included Herschel & Ruth and their three children Greg, Carey and Tonja. This small venture quickly turned into much more when H & R produced a condensed version of the modern-day sleeping bag and successfully marketed it locally to football fans as the famous “SNUG BUG” stadium bag! Following the success of the stadium bags, the company then began producing lightweight vest and eventually expanded its operation to its present location at 210 Ross Street in Hereford, TX. 

This family business still maintains the quality and integrity they were founded on in 1969. H & R is still owned and operated by the same family and has embraced several new faces along the way! Each team member at H & R is vital to its operation and strives to produce the very best for each customer.
